THE LOWLINE LAB
I was the Site Coordinator for this living laboratory, which functioned as a proof of concept for an underground park proposal on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Avant-Garde Art Piece -> Public Park
By the time I joined the Lowline team as the Site Coordinator the Lab had been built and running as a type of avant-garde art piece for a year. While many visitors were impressed by the beauty and ingenuity of the installation, an equal number struggled to imagine this almost empty warehouse, with only a few “house plants,” as a public park.
Over the next two years I worked with the project manager to re-brand and redesign the Lab as an educational facility and multi-functional public space.
